What is a home-environment-improvement measure?
Under § 40 (4) SGB XI, the Pflegekasse subsidises measures that improve your individual living environment and that make home-based care possible, make it easier, or help restore the most independent way of life possible. These include conversions such as a level-access (walk-in) shower or a stairlift — but also a move into a barrier-free apartment when conversions at the old home are not sensible or not possible.

The subsidy is up to €4,180 per measure and requires at least Pflegegrad 1. If several people in need of care live together, up to €16,720 may be possible under certain conditions. Any personal contribution you may have to pay depends on your income. The right order is crucial: first the application and approval, then the move.

You already have (or are looking for) a more suitable home — for example, with a lift, step-free access or a level-access shower. We come for a free viewing, prepare your fixed-price quote and coordinate the process with you and your family.
